Hi

I have recently purchased a USB Pocket Reader (6-in-1) for reading my Secure Digital Memory (SD Cards). The model number on the packaging is ACR4-USB.

I am taking photo's using my newly purchased Pentax Optio S digital camera. I then take the SD card out of the camera and put it in to the card reader. When I double click on the drive with the SD Card in it, it asks me to fromat the card, when I would expect it to open the contents of my card.

I have tried formatting it, all I get is an error.

If anyone has any information, please help! I would even be greatful if someone had the name of the manufacturer, all I have is the chipset name, ST.

I've also included a picture of the USB card reader.

Thanks, Steven

Like I said... I don't know who that is, there is no name on the box, or on the disk. The only name I have is ST Microcontroller. I have a model number ACR4-USB.

Any additional infromation would be great, thanks

I've also got one of these readers. My SD card is an Apacer 256MB that may actually be a Toshiba according to my Palm. Card model is SD-M256B1

I can read a 128MB card from a friend, but the 256 always gets the Format? message.

It came with driver version 2.2.0 (W2K), but I've tried 2.2.1a as well with no luck. Is the size of SD card an issue?

The other disconcerting thing about this driver is that it says it's for ST Micro people only to use for demonstration. Is there not a finished, public version?

Thanks

Do you have a manufacturer name for the card reader, or is it the same story as mine, no name, only a model number?

Big Mac UK,

Mine is exactly the same as yours from looking at the picture. I picked it up in Singapore. There was some packaging, but that got dumped. Even the CD has no manufacturer details.

Have you tried any other cards with yours? What's the capacity of the one that doesn't work?

I've only tried my 128mb SD Card. My flatmate has a different type of media, I'll ask him if I can try it when he comes in.

Hi,
Having just purchesed one of these 6 in 1 readers today and having the same problem as yourselves, it reads a Canon 8mb sd card but not a PNY 64mb sd card, I entered the product code on my package (CR-T1-U6S) into a google search and it came up with the manufacturers website, Try this

http://www.zynet.com.tw/product/cr/cr-t1-u26.html

Also in answer to steevc, on my packaging it says 128mb max for sd cards, 1gb for micro drive, 256mb compact flash and 256mb for multi media cards with nothing marked against smart media and memory sticks.
I hope it helps you, as I am hopeing they will also be able to help me tomorrow.
