What are the operating systems, sofware and tools supporting ST40 ?
As it is an SH-4 device I would expect all OS and software available with SH-4 to support ST40.

You are right JohnSmith, every software and tools supporting SH4 will work with ST40 with some minor changes.
Among all the third party providers for SH4, only a limited number as effectively run their tools on ST40, so they will not necessarily advertise it.
However, the most popular OS have already been validated on ST40 and are available for it. These are: Linux, WinCE, VxWorks, QNX, Nucleus.
As for tools, two of the most popular tools for SH4 support ST40:
- Lauterbach's TRACE32 for debug and real time tracing
- Imagination Technology's CODESCAPE
For sofware components, like JVM or web browser, all components available for SH4 will run seamlessly on ST40. This is especially true for component delivered with an OS package like Linux or WinCE.

Don't forget that ST supplies its own OS for the ST40: OS21. This is a royalty free, source code provided, real time OS. It offers very high performance multitasking, and OS aware debugging with GDB.

Is there any documentation available about OS21 ?
Is there any TCP/IP stack provided by STM with OS21 suite ?
Thanks
B.
